Statement from Security Aviation

Security Aviation is heartbroken by the accident involving one of our aircraft near Cape Newenham on Thursday.

Our hearts go out to the families, friends and loved ones of those who were lost. We extend our deepest condolences to them and to everyone affected by this devastating tragedy. They remain foremost in our thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.

Our thoughts are also with our employees, colleagues and the many people across Alaska whose lives have been touched by this loss. The messages of support coming in from across the state have meant a great deal to the entire Security Aviation team as we navigate the days ahead.

Our sincere thanks go to the military, Alaska Rescue Coordination Center and all of the search and recovery personnel who responded to the scene under extraordinarily difficult circumstances.

Security Aviation is cooperating fully with the appropriate authorities as they investigate. We will not speculate about the circumstances or potential cause and will defer questions regarding the investigation to the agencies leading that work.
Our focus at this time is on those who are grieving and on supporting our employees and others affected by this tremendous loss. Out of respect for the families and the investigative process, we will share additional information only when appropriate to do so.
